Nantucket Golf Club

Nantucket Golf Club is an exclusive, members-only 18-hole course designed by Rees Jones, complete with a practice facility, clubhouse, and restaurant. You’ll need an invite from a member to play here, unless you can fork up the membership fees, which are some of the highest in the world. The club prides itself on remaining true to the traditional game of golf by providing professional caddies, restricting the use of golf carts, and enforcing proper golf attire for all staff and members.

Miacomet Golf Club

The only 18-hole public golf course on island, Miacomet Golf Club is where you come for a full day of golf surrounded by sprawling scenery that recalls the fields of Scotland. Originally intended to be a cow pasture, the sprawling land was opened as a golf course in 1963 and expanded to 18-holes in 2003. The course is open year-round and provides practice facilities, putting greens, a driving range, meeting space, carts, instruction, a pro shop, four different tee options, and majestic views. Once you’ve finished up, visit their clubhouse for tasty house-made meals.

Siasconset Golf Club

Siasconset Golf Club, or Old Sconset Golf Club, is one of the easternmost and oldest public courses in the country. Established in 1899 as an 18-hole public course, Siasconset Golf Club is now only 9 holes to protect the land. The course is more informal than others on this list, but makes up for what it lacks in perfectly manicured lawns with plenty of charm and is the perfect way to experience authentic Nantucket.

Sankaty Head Golf Club

Sankaty Head Golf Club is one of the most exclusive clubs on the island, with members such as Jack Welch, Larry Bossidy, and Bill Belichick. The flawless 18-hole course spreads throughout Siasconset with views of Sankaty Head Lighthouse and coastal cliffs. The Atlantic wraps around most of the front nine, and the back is flowing with beach grass, greenside bunkers, and wide-open tee shots.
