  • Nantucket Community Sailing

Nantucket Community Sailing is where the locals go to sail. The NCS offers lessons, classes, boat rentals, and memberships for residents and non-resident guests alike. Memberships and lessons are open to all ages (5 and up) and all skill levels. Rentals include 420s, Rhodes 19s, and Marshall Cat 15’ sailboats, as well as kayaks, SUP, and windsurf rentals.

If you frequent the island, you’ll want to invest in a membership to earn discounts towards gear and lessons!

  • Endeavor Sailing

Sail away with U.S. Coast Guard Captain James A. Genthner aboard The Endeavor. Captain Jim offers the best tours of the Nantucket Sound and has been entertaining Nantucket guests for 35 years. Tours depart from Straight Wharf at four times a day, including every day at sunset. Private charters are available upon request. Excursions run from May through October.

  • Nantucket Race Week

If you want to witness all the action without setting foot on a boat, check out the annual Nantucket Race Week. The early-August sailing extravaganza includes 13 unique regattas, daily awards ceremonies and dinners, and a very special beach clean up when the festivities are over. Anyone is welcome to compete as long as they are registered members of U.S. Sailing.

Don’t miss the exciting youth regattas! Watch as these talented young people showcase their skills in Nantucket’s reckless waters. Cheer on your favorite and celebrate with them all at the end of the race.
