What to Do

  • Enjoy a Bike Ride

Nantucket bike rideBiking is one of Nantucket’s most coveted pastimes. Pedal down the cobblestone, through the salt-scented dirt trails, and past some of the island’s most iconic lighthouses. Madaket Road Path begins at Canton Circle and travels 5.7 miles to the less-crowded Madaket Beach. For a shorter route, hop onto Surfside Road Path and follow it 2.2 miles to Surfside Beach. With ideal temperatures and stunning views, a bike is truly the only mode of transportation you’ll need during your stay on the island.

  • Sankaty Head Lighthouse

You don’t get much more Instagrammable than Sankaty Head Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1850 and is still in operation today. It’s a quick 10 miles from Greydon House, making it an all-day bike trip or an afternoon excursion via car. Don’t miss their Open House in October where visitors can climb to the top and see the waters like an authentic lighthouse keeper.
